The primary objective is to introduce the child to the sport of basketball. The league is designed to introduce new skills to the players. At this stage the children will learn the basics of the sport such as dribbling, shooting, and passing. Throughout the season the child should learn the different aspects of team sports such as teamwork, and sportsmanship.

YMCA Sports are about teaching the fundamentals of the game, learning the values of sportsmanship, and having fun doing it. There is no score kept in YMCA Sports, no try-outs, and no league standings.

The primary objective is to learn the skills of the game, rules of the sport, and enhancing their skills throughout the season. Our focus will be for your child to play the game, learn the tactics, and learn the skills. During the season the children will learn the basics of the sport such as dribbling, shooting, passing, rebounding, different positions, and defense. YMCA Sports are about teaching the fundamentals of the game, learning the values of sportsmanship, and having fun doing it.

During the season will learn the basics of the sport such as dribbling, shooting, passing, rebounding, different defenses, boxing out and much more. Sportsmanship and teamwork concepts will be practiced throughout the season. There is no score kept in YMCA Sports, no try-outs, and no league standings.
